Karma Works

I always say I believe in Karma and that it is my higher power.  If there is a god no disrespect and thanks for everything you have done. :)  Getting back to Karma though.  You may have noticed the lack on new photos on the site for the past three weeks or so.  Well that would be due to Karma.  Three weeks ago I made a run to Reese Bay on the other side of Unalaska Island.  My friend Aura went along for the ride as well and the adventure was pretty fun.  It was the first time I had take my boat over there and as expected – the boat ran perfectly.

After the trip was over and we were pulling the boat our of the water I started to wash off the boat by throwing buckets of water on it.  Aura was

busy packing up the stuff inside when I heard a thunk!  Oh man – I looked up and Aura was holding my pack and asked if my camera was in there.  I could tell she was worried and I could not resist taking advantage if it.  I started getting all upset and rash, telling her she needed to be careful, that it was a $500 camera and it’s the only one I have and she should be careful and mindful of things even if they aren’t hers and on and on I went.  She started to feel pretty bad, repeating over and over she was sorry and if it was broken she would buy a new one.

As I was picking up another bucket of water, I grabbed my camera (which was actually in my front wader pocket) and turned it on and looked up at her, snapped a quick photo and said “I know you will!”  After seeing the camera she cursed repeatedly at me!   Hahahahah I thought, another practical prank in the books!
I placed the camera back in my front wader pocket, took the bucket of water and started to dump it in the boat, I missed however and the water hit the side of the boat and splashed right back on me and the front wader pocket dousing my camera completely!   KARAMA! EERRRAAGH!

Was missing the updates Dan! Ever since I’ve left I’ve been itching to get back, this fall can’t come soon enough! Tuesday night’s on Discovery don’t help at all either, just makes me miss it more and more. Dunno what it is about the island but each time I leave the more I want to come back.

Also outfitted myself with my own set of goalie pads, such a new appreciation for the sport after getting to play.

Summer is just about here, still a bit of snow in the mountains though.
You know I spent the better part of 10 years playing goalie, if your wearing gear that fits and is comfortable your going to play better trust me!.

LOL! No I don’t think he’s coming back, he’s now known by everyone in the company for being the biggest idiot. Had a good time reading all the news stories, was in shock for a good day or two.

Ahh summertime in Alaska! I wish I was there, I’ve only spent a week or so up there in the summer and it was amazing. Instead I’m stuck in Midland, Texas until July. My dad will be in Homer though for a week or so in June for the new Hillstrand show. I’m really jealous.

Oh Man, the last thing needed on TV is more of the Hillstrand family and their antics!

Well save a camera position for me, maybe I’ll take a break from the hotel and jump on one of the boats this year.

I have to say that moment was the most brilliant display of karma I’ve seen in a good long while:)

Uh, um, err, did you say save a camera position because you might jump on one of the boats this year?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just when I thought my baby had a nice SAFE job in a hotel. Hugs Honey, Mom

  7. Dan says:

SAFE? Where is the fun and excitement in that! Thanks Mom!
